An ode to Seagulls Fans around the World

A ode to my Seagulls Brothers and Sisters across the world!!
I may be oh so far away
From my be-love-ed-Brighton
But the California coast right now’s
Not too bad a consolation.
Each Saturday, at the early dawn
Serves as a reminder
That my childhood years, when school was out
Were so often that much kinder.
Down Woodland Drive and across Hove Park
Was the path I trod with Adam
To the Shoreham Road and the Goldstone Ground
Where our hearts would surely gladden.
As the sun goes down on Friday eve I’m focused on getting ready For the 4am alarm call
For which I must be ready.
Cos I gotta be awake for the pre-match
With anticipation and glee
To see the boys emerge from the tunnel
Singing Sussex by the Sea.
It’s early here across the pond
When they kick off down in Falmer
Not too high a price I have to pay
For living in California.
Not long ago we were down and out
No ground or team to speak of
But in stepped Dick and Uncle Tony
To ensure that we had lift off.
Thanks to Johnny, Warren and the BBC
I get my fix of Brighton
And let’s give thanks to NBC
Whose TV coverage is just “right on.”
To the seagulls fans across the world
We all know who you are
Part of an Albion family
Now committed from afar.
We’ve all spent great years in Sussex
A place we all call home
Yes, we’re abroad but we’re really
Just as Brighton as the Dome!
How great was that win against the mighty Spurs?
How awesome that feeling of joy
You can take the boy out of Brighton
But not Brighton out of the boy!!
